Vinegar and Water
The simplest DIY Glass Cleaner recipe just needs two ingredients: vinegar and water. You can use either white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. All you need to do is add vinegar and water to a bottle using a funnel, shake it gently, date and label the bottle, and your homemade glass cleaner is ready. This combination also works well as an all-purpose cleaner. To increase the effectiveness of this DIY cleaner, you can use distilled water instead of tap water.
Vinegar, Water, and Alcohol
To make a rubbing alcohol-based glass cleaner, pour 1 cup of rubbing alcohol, 1 cup of distilled water, and 1 tablespoon of vinegar into a bottle. Shake it gently, and your homemade window cleaner will be ready in minutes. The acids in vinegar combined with alcohol solvents effectively remove tough grease from windows.

Vinegar, Water, Alcohol, and Cornstarch
For particularly dirty windows, try using cornstarch. While vinegar and water cut through grime, cornstarch provides a gentle abrasive effect that enhances cleaning power. To prepare this DIY window cleaner, combine ¼ cup of rubbing alcohol, ¼ cup of distilled white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 2 cups of distilled water in a spray bottle. Shake the mixture thoroughly to blend all ingredients.
Vinegar, Water, and Dish Soap
If you don't have rubbing alcohol or cornstarch, you can also make a DIY glass cleaner using liquid dish soap. To make the cleaning solution, you need 2 cups of lukewarm water, 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar, and 1/2 teaspoon of grease-cutting liquid dish soap (preferably from a sustainable brand). Shake the mixture, and your homemade glass cleaner will be ready in no time.
